This summer a friend asked David if he wanted to be in coach pitch baseball. He had done tee ball and then was the next step up - pitches and then a tee. We agreed to sign up together. We soon found out though that the team was missing coaches. My friend Mary and I decided to take it on, although we didn't know much. Don't tell anyone, but I have never even been to a Cubs game let alone any other MLB team. So... I wasn't that most likely candidate, but I do work with kids everyday and know how to get kiddos to listen. And the Internet is a great place. I found all sorts of Little League games skills, and practice schedules. We met together and often broke the group up into groups to rotate and practice skills. I am very proud to say that our team improved tremendously from the beginning of the season to the end! And there were some very hot evenings that the boys pushed through! I would rather not coach again and I think David would rather not play baseball again so I think we are in the clear.
Just ignore me in the picture - we were trying to get our bat up a little more - batting was not his favorite
I love this picture because this sums up a lot of the season for my son!
He is a great runner though!
Looking alive!
