On Saturday, while daddy was working at a wedding, we went to a great trail that is only a mile or so from our house! It is off of 1st Ave and had a perfect loop that was just right for the kids, complete with many bridges, and places we could get close to the water! The kids loved running, collecting leaves, and exploring the great outdoors the Good Lord made!

I have to push David to be an adventurer sometimes - he was talking to himself as he was doing this and saying, "I think I can do this, I think I can do this, I think I can do this." At least he is willing to try new things more often now!

Love these kids -
Thank you God for blessing me with them and for your awesome creation and seasons!

Carrying some of the leaves he found - we brought them home and did a rubbing and read a book about leaves. I just LOVE fall!

Elizabeth was running - David took his time and looked at everything! We looked at lichen, lamb's ear, some pheasant back fungus, holes in the ground, lotus seed pods, and listened to a wood pecker.

Rocks, water, and sticks-- a little boy's dream!

We LOVE fall in Iowa!

Elizabeth was quite the explorer and often running in front. She climbed on the logs even when I said they were too big for her and didn't ask to be carried, which I was a little worried about.

David was in VERY rare form and was asking to be in pictures and did such a great job smiling! Elizabeth was not so excited about photos, but it was a blessing to have one into pictures!

Throwing leaves in the water and watching them float down stream - what a total joy!

This was down by the water - we thought the trunk of the tree was pretty cool! We saw LOTS of webs and wondered how big the spiders were, but didn't stay to find out!

That looks like a ton of fun! How fun that you were able to find a trail perfect for little ones!
