Bits and Pieces from our life

While I am waiting to get pictures from my dad of Elizabeth's dedication, I will leave you to ponder these bits and pieces from our life.

Elizabeth has been paci free the last 6 times she went to nap/bed! It started on Sunday when we literally lost the last one we had and just put her to bed without one! It was absolutely no problem, but she was tired. Then on Monday the kids had to go to a friends as Phillip went on a church visit for building ideas for the new Parkview building one day. (Side note: David said, "the church building doesn't look any different mom" when we went to preschool on Tuesday. We explained the building process would take a LONG time and be at another location). Anyway, after an hour of talking, but needing to nap she was given the paci :) Then that night Phillip also gave in when he got home and heard her fussing :) :) Since she still doesn't have her 4 canines, we had not been willing to work on getting rid of it. However, on Tuesday, my friend Devonna couldn't find the paci and thought we were done with it. Elizabeth talked for an hour, but didn't really fuss. Tuesday night daddy was gone, so I was strong and she did not get the paci! On Wednesday my mother did not give in for nap (she mostly talked again) and then she fussed with me a little on Wednesday night, but not too bad! Today was a little traumatic as she found one during nap time that we didn't know was there!! Daddy took it though and she went to bed after much fussing and lamenting the "ba ba." She still asks for it, mostly in the car, but quickly reminds herself, "big girl, ba ba broken." Now it is on the to toddler bed, as soon as we find a cheap or free one :)

If you couldn't tell from Elizabeth's party, she loves tinkerbell. She knows her name and face and gets very excited whenever she sees a tinkerbell. She usually breaks into song when she sees her, "tinkerbell, tinkerbell all the way." Somewhere around Christmas time she combined Tinkerbell and Jingle Bells and we love it!

David starts a soccer rec league next Thursday! We can't wait and are so excited Josiah is going to do it with him!

Phillip is working on a retaining wall in the backyard, one around a tree on a hill in our front yard, and hopefully a shed this spring. There are many weekend events at church this spring, many not even Parvkiew events, but during spare time he is working outside! David loves playing in the dirt and trying to "help." Elizabeth and I both got burned today outside "supervising" them. It was 81 yesterday and 78 today, just lovely!!!

I think I have 31 days of school left!

Elizabeth had her 2 year check up last Monday. She did not need any shots, which is always great!!! Elizabeth (affectionately we call her half pint) is:

Date: 4-5-10
Name: Elizabeth Faith Gugliuzza
Age: 2 Years 2 days
Height: 34 inches 55%
Weight: 24 pounds 25%
Head: 19 inches 65%

Well done, E!!!! So proud of your mama for sticking to her guns. We are nowhere near that point!

I also love her Tinkerbell song!

Sounds a lot like our experience with Abbie and the binky. Took 3 weeks for her to give up the fight. 21 long days of torture!! Our dog ate the last one and seeing it all torn up seemed to help her realize that it really was gone, not just hiding!

Abigail and her friend Madelyn are starting soccer next Thursday here in Coralville. :) I can't wait! How fun! I have to say, even though I was a soccer player, I am nervous for her. She is so small! Oh well, mommy thing I guess!
