Elizabeth

On Wednesday morning I put Elizabeth in her bed for a little bit while I cleaned the floor in the kitchen. Within 5 minutes Elizabeth was standing right behind me, sheepishly waiting for me to notice her. I had seen David help her get into her bed, but this was the first time she got out, and without help!

I told my mom about it on Thursday when she was watching the kids and she wondered what to do if Elizabeth got out of bed. The thought had never occurred to me and I told my mom not to worry about it! Oops! My mom said David went down right away and she went to go check on Elizabeth, but was surprised to find her on her floor playing with her dolls. My mom told her to go to bed and stay in bed. She checked on her 5 minutes later and found her again on the floor. The second time she threatened to spank, and Elizabeth went right to bed for real. We have not had any problems since, but I am wondering if she is ready for a big girl bed... at least it will be less dangerous to get in and out of! But that means that I have to acknowledge my baby girl is growing up and I can't do that.

I'm so thankful Sylvia has not tried to get out of her bed. She climbs everything else but not her crib. We're moving her to a big girl bed soon anyway since baby is coming.

You'd be surprised once you try the big girl bed. Just establish the fact that if she is in her new bed, she can't get out unless mommy comes and gets her. Baylor was scared to get out of his at first....however that has changed!

I can't believe she is growing up so quickly...she must have a little of her dad's spunk in her! You would never have tried to do anything like that would you Andrea?

Awwww, it's so hard for us mommys to go through these stages and realize they grow so fast! I literally stare at Abigail sometimes and think "please God, just freeze time for awhile!"

Sadly, I think you are right with the big girl bed. :)

Of course I would not have Mary :) I do remember getting into Alicia's crib to be with her, but not getting out of my own :)

She's an ornery one!! I hate that transition to the big kid bed. I am putting it off as long as possible with Jonah!

That's a picture of Elizabeth? I can't believe how much she looks like David when he was a baby!
