I not sure why it is often referred to as "the lazy days of summer." There isn't ever very much lazy about our summers! Since my summer officially began at 12:30pm on June 6th many things have happened. Here are a few: Phillip I got away for our anniversary, the kids and I went to the arts festival, went to a picnic, ate Monkey bread with Carrie, rode carnival rides at North Liberty Fun Days with friends, went to the library and downtown fountain, attended a parade, went boating, and maybe even fireworks on Sunday! Honestly, all in one week! What a way to start out summer!
As for our anniversary getaway we don't have any pictures like usual for us. It was the first time we had gotten away since before Elizabeth. We had a WONDERFUL trip, thank you Alicia, grandma, and grandpa for making it possible! We stayed at the Mariott, went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, Phillip gave me a BEAUTIFUL diamond necklace, then went to Star Trek, which I actually LOVED, and then enjoyed a lazy morning and time shopping and dining on Saturday! We picked up the kids by 6pm as we missed them like crazy, but loved the getaway!
On Sunday, after church, Alicia, I, and the kids went to the Arts Festival downtown that kicked up the summer reading program at the library too. There was a lot to do!
On Wendesday we attended a Worship & Arts picnic at some friend's house from church. We ate yummy food and the kids had lots of fun playing in the jumping house and being outside. The big kids went fishing! We didn't leave until 9:30pm as Phillip was helping tear down! Elizabeth doesn't really get too fussy when tired, she just keeps going as long as there are people around! A definite night owl! She slept until 7:45 the next morning, which David did not do when he was that little EVER!
Thank you Lord no one was hurt!
So proud she is a "big girl." Notice the shoes... we broke down and bought some robeez for her finally as everything we tried either she didn't like, left blisters, or came off all the time! I think $30 dollars for kid shoes is ridiculous, but it is the only pair she will wear all summer!
