How to throw a 3 year old princess party

On Sunday, our baby girl, turned 3! Elizabeth wanted to have a princess party this year. So if you are looking to have a princess party in the future, I am sure you will find these "musts" helpful!

1. Of course you must start with plenty of decorations for the "castle" (My mom found a paper punch out packet at Target that was full of napkin holders, rings, cup decorations, princess die cuts, castle for napkins, fork decorations, etc! Thanks Grandma!)

2. Another essential for a princess is her tiara!

3. When all the princesses arrive they must be pampered, preferably be awesome aunts. Aunt Becca did the fingernail/toenail painting and Aunt Alicia did the princess tattoos.

4. After the princesses are dolled up they need lots of choices for princess attire and accessories. Elizabeth changed princess outfits at least 5 times throughout the party! The girls also played with My Little Ponies, dolls, and puzzles during the dolling up process.

5. A little devotional to remind the girls why each girl is a princess is always good to keep the right attitude. I choose Rev 19:14 and 1 John 3:1 to remind the girls about how we are called children of God and how Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I asked the girls, "if Jesus is King and we are his daughters then what does that make us?" and all the girls just looked at me quietly and so David yells, "princesses" and all the girls cheered and laughed. It was hilarious!!

6. When you have a room for a girls you MUST craft! And so the girls (and David) decorated butterfly masks and paper bags to hold on their treats. We had glitter glue, stickers, colors, pencils, puffy balls, puffy stickers, and confetti to decorate with. Once again, I recommend having Aunts help or asking mamas to stay for the party too!

7. After the princesses are done crafting, it is time to bring out the royal cake and treats. Grandma picked out some yummy treats like butterfly gummies, colored oreos, candy necklaces, and animal crackers with sprinkles. As we were all a little preoccupied and Phillip was using the video camera we did not get ANY pictures of Elizabeth's angle food and strawberries cake. We do have video that I will work to figure out how to add!

8. Game time is also a big hit - a big brother to show how the princesses how to do it is a good idea!

9. A group shot is a MUST, if only the birthday girl would smile and Samantha wouldn't be hid behind a friend :) Maybe taking the group shot in the beginning would be wiser?
10. Opening presents from other princesses is always an extra special blessing.

Lastly, no party should be planned independently... thank you daddy for all the great pictures and video, thanks to grandma and grandpa for the castle and treats, and the aunts for all your awesomeness! What a memorable day!

I was so glad to recognize the Broffit ladies and the Dickinson ladies- otherwise, what a different group!!

Regardless, GREAT job, Andrea and fam! I really love that you both pampered the little princesses and reminded them that they are the Lord's!
