It's that time of year again, Tulip Time! It is a family tradition since I began college in 1999. We have gone every year, the last 10 years, except for the one spring I was in Spain. Since I began teaching, I have been saving a personal day for Tulip Time each year. My lifelong friend, Jill and her husband Zach meet us almost every year too. Jill and I went to high school together, college together, study in Spain together, both majored in Spanish, were bridesmaids in each others' weddings, then had our first babies 3 weeks apart, and our second babies 3 weeks apart too! Since then, baby Naomi has joined the Kapfer clan.

Water fun while we wait for the parade to start

You can't keep kids out of water - we tried the first hour!!

Shortly after this, I put sun screen on the kids so they wouldn't burn and Elizabeth broke out into bumps all over her body and a really blotchy face. She could barely keep one of her eyes open, no more Coppertone!

Jonah and Elizabeth (No Elizabeth does not have her canines yet--only her top left one, and half of her top right one)

Abbie and David eating snacks - so hard to believe they are 4!

The kids Abbie, David, Elizabeth, Jonah, and Naomi in the background in her carrier

One of the best things of Tulip Time - yummy treats

We like to sit in the park area where the kids can run and play. The parade is over 2 hours long!!

Abbie was picked to dance to the second song with the Dutch Dancers

You can tell she takes dance

I was dragged into a song too.
I said no to the first 3 people who asked, but couldn't say no again!

Watching the parade

Some cuties in the parade

Love this picture - this little boy worked so hard to get water in his bucket

Don't judge me. The water wasn't as bad as it looks.

Playing in the jumping house

Fun after the parade

One of David's new joys

We haven't been able to make it in the last 7 yrs...every year we are like, "when is tulip time?" and then something comes up. Maybe we will see you next year! ;) I love how you keep in touch with an old friend and made this a tradition!
Hey! That first pic of David is AWESOME- so handsome!!!!!! I also LOVE your dress!! That looks really, really fun!
The tulips here are gorgeous- maybe one day we'll go to Amsterdam for the tulips!! It's an hour flight!
Oh Andrea...when we grow up we should totally go to Holland together. That would be awesome! What great memories...I just hope that the kids want to continue to go with us year after year. Thanks for being my lifelong friend! :)
