This got me thinking...

Absolutely LOVE this while we are thinking of New Year's Resolutions...

Godly people are godly people primarily because they are disciplined people. And it has always been that way” insists Dr. Whitney:

"You can go all the way back through the history of the church and all the famous heroes of church history. You can be sure that all those men and women became godly men and women – not because God zapped them in some way that he hasn’t zapped you….Those great men and women of faith became more like Jesus the same way you and I do: by means of sustained, unspectacular, routine discipline. Godly people are godly people because they are disciplined people. It’s always been so."

My favorite part is the "unspectacular" and "routine discipline." I can't just attribute godliness to people just because that is who they are, that God loves them more, or that they have been a Christian longer... It is because they work to spend time with Jesus, learn about Jesus, and try to be like Jesus and then the Spirit works godliness in their lives. I know I will fail at this, but by God's grace, I would like to grow in godliness this year. If you ask my husband or my children, I have already failed at godliness all 4 days this year, but I am confident God can change me one minute at a time. Join me in my quest for godliness!

I eagerly join you in this endeavor! I am deeply yearning to go deep with Jesus this year! May we be friends that are iron sharpening iron Andrea. Much love to you.

The best resolution EVER! :) I think he has used Abigail to encourage me this year. She has been picking up on so much about Jesus, more than I expected, which encourages me, and makes me want more of him, and for her to see that! I am in awe over and over when I am able to see why God gave me Abigail.
