Love that my son is sitting on the ground going through book orders. He is excited beyond belief! It makes his teacher mama so happy! Unfortunately, for the budget though I don't know if daddy or mommy can say no to books!! Toys, I have no problem saying no too, but I am sucker for books!! Just look at the picture of Elizabeth in the middle of HALF of our kid books!! :)
On another note, tonight while discussing when bedtime would be David was learning about the second, minute, and hour hand. He doesn't have it down, but was asking lots of questions about "how it works" (rabbit trail... a constantly heard phrase around here... "how leaves work mama?" "How the garbage truck work mama?" - Isn't there a show called "How stuff works" so I don't have to answer all these questions? :) ) I told explained to the concept of 60 seconds and 60 minutes and the best I could to a three year old. He then told me it was now 37:5 o'clock. Then he found the part that you wind on the back to the change the time. I told him what it was and he got really excited and asked then if he changed the clock if he could change when bedtime was!! Like any proud mama I was very impressed with his quick thinking and loved watching the thought come to him!!!
On Tuesday, David got to go on his first field trip with preschool. Mrs. Broffitt drove the bus and he was sooo excited!! Like most of the parents, I did not send him prepared for the field trip. It had rained all night and was VERY windy and I never thought twice that they would go. So my son had no hat, nice, new shoes and a jacket that he LEFT ON HIS HOOK!! However, he had a great time and was very proud that he did not fall--he said many kids and moms took spills! He shoes were not ruined and he apparently didn't mind the cold! Mrs. Broffitt said he was explaining to her why it was slippery and that it was because the rain made the leaves wet and water makes things slippery. I wonder if he was remebering the 3-4 times I just finished cleaning the floor and Elizabeth came running to find me and stepped on the floor and went flying!!
I love the preschool age! I loved the two's though too! Actually, I love the little baby stage too! I PRAY that I will be able to say that I loved the junior high and high school stage too!!!!!!!!
