Our second week of summer was devoted to Vacation Bible School. It was the first year I got to teach a class instead of help with music. Alicia and I taught together and took turns doing the Bible story time. It was great! The kids really enjoyed it! It was the first time some of them really had to stick to a schedule and couldn't just free play. We had all the 3 year olds. There was only 10, but one preferred his mommy and one came only for one day. We had two junior helpers too so it was a GREAT 4 to 8 ratio most days!!
The theme was "SON ROCK KIDS CAMP"

Our adorable 3 year olds in their fisherman vests. You can only see Kaelia's hair bow so I put in the second photo too, but most don't look as happy :)

David, Tali and Kate making bug catchers in crafts

Maybe we can use this for blackmail one day :)

Groovin' in music

David and Kaelia loved to run wild when tired of jumping and singing!

Of course smores for snack time!
David purposely refuses to look at me half the time when I take pictures!

Finally smiling!

Sweet sweet Peyton Pentico and Kate Reckemer

Josie didn't want to get her hands sticky :)

Our room Alicia and I decorated - thanks dad for the tent and fire! The kids LOVED it!

Alicia's kindergarten training came in handy and we did extra crafts and activities in the room:) We used the overhead and transparencies for most of the animals. Can't wait until next year! Although, Alicia will be in Mexico maybe I can get Shari to teach 4 year olds with me :)

We're looking forward to having some of those kiddos in preschool.
