Update on Potty Training

I am happy to say that potty training is going well as far as going number 1 is concerned. Thank you Lord! David is pretty good at letting us know when he needs to go number 1 and we have made it most of the time. It helps that we try to go every 1/2 an hour so that we prevent the accidents. He has a hard time stopping in the middle of play, but we are working on that. Now for number 2 in the pot. He has gone a couple of times, but most recently he had an accident in his underwear. It was awful! I wanted to throw it away like Jill, but we don't have enough underwear! :) Since then he has been refusing to go number 2 and keeps asking for his diaper, but we aren't going back! Although, we are still wearing diapers at nighttime and naps until he starts waking up dry. Today he went many times at the library and even at the bread garden restrooms before the library opened.

Just wait... oh my... PRAISE THE LORD... even as I was writing this David told me he needed to go number 2 and he went! Potty training is so difficult I am always grateful for any success! I am trying not to let the success of the potty make or break or days though! We are praising Jesus when we go and when we don't! I don't mean to make potty training so spiritual, but it sure is teaching me a lot! I can name 4 friends in the same boat that I am praying for too. I am rejoicing with them in their successes and praying for patience and perspective with the accidents.

Thank you Lord for this challenge and for giving us the help to make it through it!

Um yeah...you can pray for us! :) I think that our problem is consistency. Some days she's at home with Daddy, some days with Mommy and some days she's at school. I think that makes it harder. I should probably think about staying home on our days and making her practice, but it's hard. Maybe she sense that I don't trust her since I keep putting her in pull-ups or diapers. Maybe I should just forget it and make her deal with making a mess in her underwear. I don't know, I just give up. The stubborness is killing me!
